A Message From Carole Snyder

At every opportunity, my opponent makes inflammatory accusations about my credentials. I would like to set the record straight. When I began my accounting career, I became a CPA. While I was working in a financial role (and for 4 years beyond that) I kept my CPA license current. When it became clear that my career would remain in executive management, however, my work schedule did not provide time for me to maintain the continuing education required (80 hours per two-year period) to keep my CPA license current.

In 1996, my continuing education record was chosen for a random review of a prior period. I did not receive notice of this review and as a result did not respond. Because I did not respond, my license was put in suspension by default until such time as I provided the requested detail. (For more detail on this chronology, click here.) I have since provided that information and am in the process of clearing up that technicality. At no time did I practice as a CPA without an active license, make false representations or commit a crime. Any representations or innuendo to the contrary are patently false and are a smokescreen by the incumbent.

My credentials and performance stand on their own merits. For nine years, I was a senior officer of a Fortune 500 company subject to all of the scrutiny of the SEC. Any wrongdoing on my part certainly would have come to light. My professional judgment and competence are matters of record and are attested to by my repeated promotions to positions of greater responsibility, my corporate Board positions and my advisory roles. My awards have been numerous and include the PA Honor Roll for Women, Berks Chamber Athena Award, Distinguished alumni awards, the Executive Women of NJ Policy Makers Award and the Maggie Award from the Girl Scouts of Morris County.
